Description

More from our recent trip to the UK... Ahh...this is exotic to me: Roman ruins preserved as best can be restored of the mineral spring bath at Bath, England. Apperently the thermal springs were previoulsy used by the Celts and developed by the Romans after 44 AD or so; all went downhill after the failing of the western Roman empire a few hundred years later. The water is warm, leading to the mist over the fairly shallow main bath. This is a facinating place with the baths and some temple artifacts. Full size is just a click away. Truly a luck a barbarian era did not distroy this place so we still can enjoy a beauty and mystic about it today. Great mood with a steam.

Oh, Tom! I can feel it. So strong and yet so appealing. I can imagine people soaking in the warm waters. How very incredible.

Beautifully captured = I find it fascinating how so many places have a character that persists down the ages from ancient druids seeking healing from a scared spring to 20thC Edwardians flocking to a spar for the health giving properties of the water.
