Description

The final render will have a few a tweaks plus the inclusion of pilot and co-pilot in the B17 cabins. It will be the 2nd of a set of 6 images focusing on the Mighty 8th Airforce. The composition shows a group of B17s taking off from their airfield. Altitude of aircraft is adjusted with a degree of "licence" to achieve this composition.

i would not want to be picking veggies when theyre flying by. perhaps making the image a little darker. To give mood. it seems almost enlightening that bombers are coming by. haha. the set up is good though. and i like how you can see the shadows in the plants.

I wondered about the altitude LOL. I had the great fortune to see a restored B-17 in flight just a bit higher than these, what a majestic sight. You wouldn't believe what a deafening drone those four mighty engines put out - and it was throttled back, too. Love everything about this scene...

Never worry too much about the amount of "degree of licence" in your images. 100% accuracy is near impossible and would lead to worrying if the engine oil stains are realistic :) A wonderful scene, just makes you wish you could hear the sound. Can't wait for the final.

looks like it's coming along very well! You might try adding a bump map for the skin of the aircraft to give it intrest to the body!
