Description

Azores, Pico. One day we went whale watching, and the next we explored a lava tunnel. The rock formation on which that guy is sitting is called "the whale", and it looks like one (even if the pic doesn't take it all in), you can compare with the other shot, a common whale (the two tails I posted some days ago were sperm whales, those have teeth, this one just filters and eats plankton). The lava tunnel is 5 km long, but the part open to visitors is musch less, some 600 meters.

I think of the two, I would be most captivated by exploring the tunnel but when looking at these two photos...I find they are both fabulous and the feel of adventure is equal.
