Description

The violet hour, my favorite time, anything is possible...
ghosts can walk, a cow bell sounds cosmic, angels might be abroad,
a parallel universe might lie just over the hill, the planet slows down enough for us to
hear the music of the spheres if we close our eyes and listen with our hearts,
plants inhale color and exhale perfume, dew falls like kind words,
insects pause and discuss who knows what among themselves,
a cat sitting on a stone wall knows the meaning of life
and would tell us if we simply asked. ~ Nikki Hardin * * * (Note....this was called "the blue hour" by the author, but obviously this image isn't blue :o) ....I much prefer violet to blue, hence the small change) Y'all have a great day and thanks for all the wonderful comments and favorites ! an art teacher once said that the most evocative & beautiful times of day are always the most fleeting. But to the soul, those rich-hued times can last lifetimes. This captures the 'violet hour' as an eternity, a place of forever-reflecting & unfolding, and of the inner person blooming in ways they might not in broad daylight. And then, violets are so very intense that it takes an intense spirit to hold them for long periods. "Tis now the very violet hour of night," to paraphrase Shakespeare, except it could be day too; the woman is unfolding beautifully in this inward light; and your use of floral and tree-like forms, subtle & silhouetted as they are, only adds to the inwardness of the moment (as does your textured background itself, and of course the large moon-like orb). I've noticed that your hues are often woven-through with lights and morphs, a sign that you see light & transformation everywhere. Overall, it's visually luminous and soothing. I look out on one of urban America's most beautiful horizons, highrises against a massive lake. At sunrise, these colors predominate & you wish they'd stay there forever. This piece is that forever...
