Description
Looking out at the light beacon on the outer edge of the harbor of Duluth, Minnesota. Duluth is located on the westernmost tip of the massive Lake Superior, halfway between Minneapolis/St. Paul and the Canadian border.
From Duluth you can drive north along the edge of Lake Superior on up to Canada, which is only 2 & 1/2 hours away. It's a breathtaking journey, almost like a trip to another world, and beautiful during any season.
This was taken at sunset as the last rays of sunshine hit the rocks.

Quite a journey you've been taking us on! From the first rays of dawn on the sunny gulf coast of Florida, to the last rays of sunset on the shores of frigid lake Superior. Beautiful indeed!

Love the perspective and golden afternoon light. You'd never guess that Duluth is a busy port city. Ocean ships arrive daily via the Great Lakes and St. Lawrence seaway. Imagine: Night descending. A veil of thick fog holds hidden danger. In the distance you can hear the cautionary fog horn sound off.
