Description

We saw this baboon shortly after entering the Pilansberg Game Reserve in South Africa this past Sunday. There was a whole troop, although this one and his mate was having some 'alone' time away from the group. lol... I love this image. Animals are a fascinating subject of artistic study, and I see this image as a perfect example of that. There's always a certain regal quality that wild animals possess, and it's often over-sentimentalized, or turned into something cartoonish. This image is perfect in that you've captured the essential "baboon-ness" of this intriguing, and apparently thoughtful creature! Great work and an excellent peek into the things that happen in your corner of the world! I love it!

I have heard their reputation is unfounded as they tend to be timid.the movies paint them as wild beasts out to kill for fun.still, I would not approach them for sure. excellent capture
