Description

Eleventh in a series of classic vehicles, captured 9/21/08, at the beautiful Palos Verdes Concours d'Elegance, held annually at the beautiful Trump National Golf Club on the beautiful Palos Verdes Peninsula in overpopulated Southern California. For more information on this event, see my posting for 9/28/08. In a temporary departure from the usual posting of pictures of a solitary automobile itself, this collage shows attendees visiting the vast vintage Cadillac display out on the golf course. The Caddies had that section all to themselves, in contrast to most of the other makes that were all bunched together. The tripod-toting photographer in the top picture is shouting at me to get off his turf -- yeah, like I was going to really pay him heed, ha! -- and the gentleman in the foreground of the second photo, walking toward the cars, is one of the judges of the event. I could tell because they all wore the same type straw hat with the wide band. What struck me in these views is how much it resembles the Pebble Beach course and coastline up in Northern California. Thankx for stopping by, and have a top notch Thursday.

Really a great setting for the event. The day was b eautiful to show off these fine examples. When I worked for the Director of Plans and Programs he lived in Palos Verdes and drove a Hillman Minx. Later he became VP of plans but I never saw his car again. I guess I was just a Rolling Hills Estates kind of guy. I've been to three peoples homes and the annual horse show there.

This is a great collage to see a wider view of the event. Actually it is held on a very fine place looking at the ocean.

Wonderful setting for this show; when I was a kid we used to go for drives along the coastline in Palos Verdes. I have vivid memories of watching the moon dipping toward the western horizon, reflecting in a path across the water all the way toward me; very striking!
