Hi, I'm Marilyn.  I've been posting here on RR for a few years now and thought it was time to update my profile.  It's been wonderful learning so much from the amazingly talented people here.  I've had the chance to meet many in person and some have become great and good friends.  Starting with a Kodak Brownie camera when I was about 7 or 8, moving up to Instamatics, Polaroids, then the Pentax K1000 that really got me on the way, I've been looking at the world thru a lens for a long time.  Got the bug honestly; my dad was a photographer and gave me the gene!!  Digital changed the world and I jumped in with both feet.  You would've gone thru 100's of rolls of film in one day the way we can shoot and delete all day long.  Progess...it can be awesome sometimes.
At any rate, RR rocks, the talent is over the top and I'm just gonna keep on shooting!!
Thanks for looking and keep those cameras rollin'!!
peace.....marilyn

The orange hue in this is exceptionally warm and cozy, which works as a welcome, surprising contrast to the surf imagery as well. Great work here! It has that sunset feel to it, which adds to the sense of relaxation this picture imparts.

I have a filter in PSP called Old Newspaper, I use that sometimes instead of the Sepia filter, that gives a golden glow like this one Marilyn. A warm welcoming feel to this, even the water looks warm. Superb capture. Bravo!!!!

For someone from the Midwest this is a view that signals accomplishment. Going to Kansas City on a bus, train or plane does not compare. Kansas City, Here I come? I think not!

Again that morning light works wonders. Very nice POV too. I live on the east coast and I find I am always drawn to our local pier...if seems to present endless opportunities for photos! Great work!

I don't know how I let this one pass me by Marilyn, Stellar job! Congratulations for making the selection for the LWitG42, well done lady!

this is a must full-size, because when you see it large, you really do get lost in the underside of a high pier (or boardwalk). Much mystery and peace down there; and you got this early morning gold, but also that murky still-darkish gray that makes this look almost otherworldly. Lovely to see the lower piers (supports) all stained by the water, and yes the piece has an old world look. Both painterly (esp. in the water mid ground, where it could almost be oil) and with the golds and ambers typical of the 17th C. Deserving of the LWITG. Your gallery is a genuine carnival!
