Hi, My name is Bill and I am updating my homepage to reflect a wonderful event in my life...marriage, September 18, 2010, to my best friend Tara...known to many of you as auntietk here on Renderosity.
We "met" shortly after I joined Renderosity in August 2008. We share a love for photography and indeed all types of art.
We live north of Seattle and enjoy getting to share photographic excursions and information with other Renderositians ( is "Renderositians" even a word? ). LOL
As for me, it seems like I've been taking pictures all my life but I didn't get serious enough to purchase my first Digital Single Lens Reflex (DSLR) camera until May 2008. In May 2009 I upgraded from an Olympus E-510 to an Olympus E-30 with a wide variety of lenses.
My subject areas of interest include absolutely everything but with a frequent return to airplanes, cars, tanks, etc., ...or as Tara says, machines that make lots of noise;-)
If you are curious, I am pictured above in a Grumman Corsair on a taxiway of the Kansas City Downtown Airport. I used to fly and train others to fly airplanes. That will explain my frequent forays into the world of aviation. Last but by no means least, thanks to Pannyhb for introducing me to Renderosity. The moment I saw it I was hooked.
Fine print: Yes, the photo above is a photo manipulation:-)

I agree with you, some images work better in B/W. Excellent use of B/W in this case, you saved the photo :)

Fantastic mood and wonderful photo.

Good! A little soft on the edges but I don't mind that. Gives a good mood in Black and White.

B&W works for me all the time Bill. When I first saw it I thought it was a render although working nights I don't usually know what this time in the morning looks like :)

Love the lighthouse. Your choice for Black and White--- excellent. Once upon a time a mighty Naval Ship, The USS Rusty Bottom, was traveling off the New England Coast...Over the speakers came a booming voice, Naval Vessel, alter your course 30 degrees south to prevent collision. The Captain replied, This is the mightiest War Ship in the world, you alter your course 30 North....... A long silence. then I am a lighthouse, your decision. Cheers and a good morning, Coffee mug lifted in your direction. Skipper62

Beautiful capture. Lighthouses usually work very well with either B&W or sepia. Awesome find.

I don't know why it is but whenever I think of New York, a state I have never been in, I always think of high buildings and congestion....it's so very nice to see that it's not all city and has some beautiful scenery like this...a fantastic capture.

To KISS (keep it simple silly) works best...in this case you are correct. You were able to emphasize the subject of your desire..

This is great, an inspiration. I'll have to agree with everyone else B/W is very effective especially for this beautiful scene.
