Description

Surfcasting for big Atlantic Striped Bass and Blue Fish can be thrilling but it can also be very wet. I left at least seven more fishermen in this picture. They can be seen among the rocks over at the next point of land at the top of this image. Please open to full-size to see the detail. All you need for this type of fishing are a pair of waders, some special cleats for your boots to keep from slipping on wet rocks, a ten foot pole and a few of the right lures. The big fish chase the bait fish in close to shore and have a thrashing, good old time feasting around sunrise and late in the afternoon. Your job, should you try this, is to cast near the feeding Bass and Blues. One per day per angler. Great fishing. Bill

Now that is dedication to your sport!Excellent image Bill, not sure if I'm mentioned before, I'm not into fishing. This however could be quite entertaining, though it seems like a hell of a beating for a 1 fish bag. Thanks Bill.

I've not been fishing before, but if I did I think i'd try something a little less drastic than this. Excellent post Bill.

I hope it's warm while they are doing this fishing...looks like it could be very wet and very cold but I do love to fish, just never tried this kind before, a wonderful capture!

I have never fished in these conditions, but I have broken the ice to fish on New Years Day, quite a few time as well. It used to be a regular thing with me and a few buddies, always went fishing 1st January no matter how drunk we got the night before. I packed up fishing about twenty years ago due to failing health, but I would love to give this a go. Seems a bit harsh though only a 1 fish limit. Excellent capture, well worth the extra click to zoom for the full details. Bravo!!!!!
