Description

I have captured this little weaver in Pilansberg Game Reserve when I went with Adam & Ina for a day trip. He is anxiously weaving and building a nest and when he is finished, he will get a prospective Mrs Weaver to come and inspect his work. If she is happy with the new home, she will move in and they will live happily ever after... If she is not satisfied, she will rip the nest to pieces and he will have to start again from scratch!!! (This will teach you men a lesson... *smile*) I have them in the garden too and can watch their tireless work for hours. They do rip my palms to shreds as it seems to be perfect building material. Cute little suckers!!! Thank you for popping in and for your valued comments on this image as well as my previous uploads. Thank you also to those who chose my previous images as favourites. Hugs, Carin xx

What fascinating information on this weaver. I had no idea the house got built first and never would have thought an ill-tempered female would trash it if she was not pleased. Great shot to go with it. :-) They are very colorful birds and you got great focus on the nest as well.
