Description
It’s almost midnight
And she can feel it creeping up on her
She is getting the two O’ clock blues
She has almost drank enough
To drown her self respect
To kill the pain of being alone
She knows the vultures will be circling soon
She knows they don’t care anything about her
They want one thing and one thing only
And she only wants one thing too
But they are different things
She wants someone to talk too
To be with
To feel the touch of his hand
The warmth of his heart
Someone to make love to at night
And be in love with during the day
But she can’t even dream that big anymore
Her dreams have been crushed to many times before
So she will have a couple more drinks
And try to hide the tears
From the two O’ clock blues

Ah...more poetic truth! The Two O'Clock blues are such a familiar thing to so many of us, even more so where I'm from, since last drinks are hastily downed a half-hour before, since 2:00 is when everyone gets the heck out and either goes home alone, or alone (even with someone.) Your words capture this succinctly. Bravo.

Hey Randy for not being a drinker, this is pretty good....And as you know from me, you don't have to drink to have the 2 o'clock blues...I still have them.
