Description

Trying out new things again lol. (please ZOOM) One RAW image Tone-mapped using Photomatix3.0 I played around with this and preferred this darker tone to create a dramatic kind of look to it. This is not HDR because I now realise that a true HDR image is at least 3 same images of different exposures preferably 1 under 1 over and 1 'normal' exposure. Takes me a while to really get to understand all these terms. Tone-Mapping, RAW and HDR. ALL very new to me. But it is Great fun playing about with it lol.

I can understand what a lot of fun you're having. and this is a superb result, Alan. But I'm having trouble actually getting to LIKE most of the images produced: I sometimes find them unpleasant and even threatening. This is a stunning composition and I should probably much prefer it in its original version!! All that said, ignore me, I'm just old-fashioned!

I have never seen Knowl Hill from this angle before Alan, but then I have never been walking in that area. Makes a pleasant change, and I think you have done well shooting in raw and tone mapping the image. I like that sky, very dramatic indeed. Excellent work. Bravo!!!!!

This type of postwork is so interesing to me. I am about 2/3 of the way through understanding the basic principles of my PS program now but when I finally get comfortable with that, I hope to delve a bit more into this sort of thing.
