Description

Image in Poser Pro, Vue and story by me. Slightly over saturated and texture added for a stylized look. Please view full size if you have time. My thoughts are always somehow clearer here by the lake. I could always talk to you, probably because you don't talk back. Who ever heard of a talking lake? I used to come more often, but lately, life has gotten in the way I suppose. A husband and two kids will do that to you, or so they say. I have been married for over 8 years to the most wonderful man and we have two beautiful and healthy children. I am truly blessed, just ask my friends (giggle). My husband John is a warm, tender and loving person and is the best father I know. Our relationship has always been perfect in every way. Oh I have heard from or read about women that have this earth shattering love life you know, but I just figured I wasn't made for that. Whatever that is. I'm not complaining mind you, can't miss what you haven't known, right? And the kids, oh how big they have gotten and smart just like John. We all went to a wedding a couple of weeks ago. It was for one of John's cousins and she was a beautiful bride. The service was at the new church so I finally got a chance to see it inside. Kind of modern looking from the outside but breathtaking inside. I did have a bit of a chuckle as I saw the bridesmaids dresses, never gonna wear those again (giggle). The service was romantic and of course I cried as I always seem to do. Everyone was dressed up and looking their best, well all except John's grandfather. He was wearing a suit I'm sure he bought in the '40's or something, but he's as genuine a person as you'll ever meet and that's what counts for me. The reception was at the country club and it's a beautiful place. I only get to go there on occasions like this, as we aren't members. The weather was perfect and we sat on a large patio overlooking the golf course and a small lake. It was all lit up that evening and was just spectacular. Well, that's when it happened. I was heading back to my seat when I must have caught my heel in a crack or something, and well, down I went. Nothing damaged but my pride though so don't worry about that. I'm sure it was funny though, even I was laughing hysterically. I was sitting on the ground laughing like an idiot when this man standing next to me reached down with his hand. I looked up and he was smiling and said may I help you. I reached out for his hand and as his hand took mine this indescribable feeling came over me. I thanked him and he said it was his pleasure and walked away. A while later I was sitting at our table, I have no idea where John was, and the same man came over to me and asked if I was ok and would I like to dance. I'm fine and I'd love to dance I told him. Now see that is very strange because I didn't even know this person and would never have accepted his offer. Something is different this time though and I'm not sure why. It was one of those wonderful old love songs they play at weddings and I loved dancing to. The first thing I noticed as we danced was feeling a bit dizzy and couldn't seem to catch my breath. Then I started to tremble and I just couldn't control it. My head was spinning and it took everything I could muster to pull away and start running for the ladies room. I found an empty spot and just sat there trembling and my heart was pounding so fast I thought I might faint. Several minutes must have passed before I was able to go back out to the wedding. I was dreading going back because I just knew this guy would want an explanation or something and I knew I didn't want to be close to him.

I sat quietly at our table looking around for John when I saw him again. Our eyes met from half way across the room and he was smiling at me and waving as if to say are you alright. I sheepishly nodded that I was and tried to look away. I spent the rest of the evening trying to look away. I must have looked like a deer caught in headlights or something. That evening John and I were in bed for the night and he was feeling amorous, but I just couldn't, and told him I was tired. I couldn't sleep that night at all. Every time I closed my eyes I saw him smiling at me. Oh god I feel so strange inside and I can barely think straight. I now spend my days wondering if I will see him again and what will happen if I do. I find myself daydreaming about romantic interludes and other unmentionable things. But John and I are the happiest couple in town, just ask my friends...... Please feel free to critique my story as writing is new to me. Don

Superb image Don as it is one of those truly majestic scenes. As for your story it is very nicely written and allows one to feel a closeness with the character through your details.

Absolutely stunning image and fantastic storytelling! I know how difficult it can be to write a story to go along with some images, while others just write themselves. And this is superbly well written! Fantastic work!

Nicely posed and wonderfull mood and setting...although the lighter shadows on the opposite shore seem a bit out of sync with the high contracst near shore shadows... fine image tho
