Description
Fishing in Jessop's Lake, the only lake in Dalriadan lands, was once the province of the sept O'Caillean, and much wealth did it bring them. However, after the Bluidy Reaving of the Folk, by the mercenary regiments of Prince Bailfur, the burns running into it were dammed, and a cut made into the open sea. This resulted in the mixing of salt and freshwater, the intention of the southern lords being to prevent freshwater fishing being used as a resource by the clans...
Baron Kelman's 'FALL OF AULD DALRIATA', Penshaun Press.
Constructed in VUE, with various CPU hungry atmospheres, before I settled on a slight modification of Chipp Walter's TERRAMAT item from Cornucopia3D store. The water, and rock MATs come from the St Joe's Creek swamp item by Robin Kleb in the same store. The lochside foreground ecosystem is from Martin Frost's Forgotten Places item.
There is a certain stillness in this shot, but I wish I had better lighting in this render. Unfortunately most of the better atmospheres seem to take upwards of 50 hours to render - real GPU melters! Thanks for viewing and any and all comments. Take care, my friends, John.

Nice scene. The rock and water look great. Regarding render times, I don't know if you know this trick, sorry if you do, but decreasing the quality to negative values in the Light tab of the atmosphere settings decreases render times tremendously, without a visible loss in quality. In the case of this image, I would say you could safely use -1.5 or even less. If you see blotches in shadows, you'd have to increase the quality slider.
