Description

Hello All! Taken this summer at Fernwood gardens near my my Mom's home in St Joe Mich . Fernwood began as the country home of Kay and Walter Boydston, who purchased the first 12.5 acres in 1941. During the years that followed, Fernwood became a popular gathering place for those who shared Kay's love of nature, horticulture, and the craft arts. In 1964 Fernwood became a public place to stroll through. Most of the floral beauty was at it's end by the end of the summer when we went hiking there in late August ,but I was drawn to this sweet little brown eyed susan lined path and charming garden hut shown here in this shot and thought I would share it with you today . Had such a fun day there they have a hidden little cafe with a top chef where you can dine on the patio and watch the birds play and see a beautiful garden view . Had the best lunch (a yummy cranberry chicken salad ) that I have had in ages here!!! Have been Really wishing and longing for the fall color we do not get much of that in southern CA it seems so all you that are surrounded by it are so fortunate!!! Thanks for your time and comments!!! Love to all !!! ((( BIG HUGS ))) ~ kimmers ♥ :O)

Gorgeous photo. Elegant landscape design. My kind of place. I love blackeyed susans, they're one of my favorite native plants. That building is fun and I love the curving path. Thanks for sharing your story, too. Always fun to learn about other parts of the country.

This really is a lovely photo with the brown-eyed susans leading to the garden hut. Reminds me of the botanic gardens in Denver. Imagine having a country home with all that land and beautiful gardens. How marvelous that would be. And your cranberry chicken salad sounds yummy. Up on the mountain the fall colors are giving way to winter, however down the mtn Autumn is still in full bloom.:o) CC

Thanks for sharing this photo today. As fall sets in, this is a most welcome sight. Sounds like a wonderful place for a walk and a bite to eat. Your frame is in very good taste...I'd put this on my wall. Bill
