Description

I do a lot of hiking, mostly in the White Mountains of New Hampshire. I feel like I know those mountains better than I know my own back yard. This particular image is inspired by, though not copied from, some of the many views I see while hiking up there. It is common to walk for hours in the woods, then come out onto an rocky out crop to get that first panorama look around. Often the mountains are in the snow, long before the lower trails see any. It is also common for the ground to be snowy while the trees are still green. So this is my take on that. This was done completely in Vue 6 Esprit with only the signature done in postework.

Great POV, lighting and composition, my friend. The foreground conifer is just superb. Can I ask what the wee white ringed flowers are? They look a bit like the 'clock' weed ( dandelion ) that weans ( kids ) blow the seeds off. I am sure that even this render left you breathless when you saw the final view. Unfortunately it is just a wee bit wide for my desktop background... ;o) Warm regards, from a wet and windy Glasgow, Scotland, John.

Yes, jgkane, those are indeed little dandylions just at the puffball stage. They do look much better at the full blown resolution (which I did 4000wide at home but was too big for the gallery). :) Thanks for visiting.
