To all of my mother's Renderosity friends:
It saddens me to no end to tell you that my mother, Mina, passed on May 31st, from endometrial cancer. She is survived by my father, Roger, and myself. I apologize for not letting you all know sooner, but her passing has left me with a broken heart and it is very hard to write this, even now. I don't suppose there will ever come a time that it will be easier.
I know how much she loved you all, how much it meant to her to have met such wonderful people, and how much it meant to her to create & share her art with you. I am leaving her work here for a while, as tribute to her, her beauty, her talent & her love.

A simpler image than some of yours, but only in appearance because it's really quite complex & expressive. You've used the scarf (shroud) very expressively, not only in the way you wrap it around this woman, but in the different textures & lights you allow to show. But moreso the woman's face seems woven out of the same fabric as the shawl...it's an integrated vision. Also, I see fear but there's also introspection and intensity: She looks at us as much as we look at her. An introspective piece, and one of your more photographic works which you execute with real clarity and gentle & inward hues...you really use the shawl expressively.

A nice play with symmetry and asymmetry - the central white with the face. Your photo of this woman is certainly enhanced by the textures, otherwise I think, that as pretty as she is, she looks much more interesting this way.
