Description

This is for my friend Lori, also known as (scifibabe). She is a very close friend and one of the nicest people I've ever met. Lori does super work in Poser and Mixed Medium and her gallery is a must. My personal favorites are her paintings as she truly has a talent for bringing those images to life. Several times when I have been a bit sad Lori has made me feel better with her sense of humor and this is my humble way of saying thanks. Lori shared many great stories with me that I loved. This story stood out the most because it shows how people from different cultures can unite. Hope for smiles, Dave Unspoken Miracle (For scifibabe): Lori and her Mom would vacation each year to Huntington Beach South Carolina to enjoy the beaches. Late one day they were heading back to their camper and decided to go back through the beach. They saw something moving about in the sand but couldn't tell what it was. As they approached Lori was excited to see it was a large sea turtle thrashing about. A couple vacationing from France arrived and watched the turtle with them. Then a couple from Germany stopped to watch the turtle also. Suddenly the Momma turtle began laying her eggs and everyone witnessed this small miracle. It didn't matter that none of the people in his little group could understand each other. All that mattered was they shared in this unspoken miracle of birth, and for these few moments had something wonderful in common. After she finished the Momma turtle covered her eggs in the sand and went back into the water. She was able to bring people together without saying a word. P.S. Please be patient with me as I hurt my hand and it is hard to type so it will take me a while to thank everyone :)

I really like the wonder in the face of the little girl and the adults around. I agree with Lord Darkwolf: we need more turtles running the world. Great story, and wonderful illustration. Well done!

Another of your sensitive depictions of the jewel contained in the small moments of life. You have a constant music, as always, between the leaning man on the left through the kneeling mother & daughter (Lori & her mom), traveling right through the commanding turtle. And as always, you've caught the in-the-moment details everywhere: the natural pose of the mother, her blouse in motion, the lines of her jeans (really life-like and complex!), the 3D embossed quality of the flower on Lori's blouse, wonderful shadows on the man on the left, and on and on. And you've got these little glows on the underside of the eggs, a really nice touch. The turtle's face is just what a turtle's face is: an inimitable scowl (well to humans at least!); and the trees bow towards the center, a point of composition; and you have a suitably vast and misty background with mountains, sea & clouds...Another very caring & loving capture of a moment of someone you care about, that you no doubt lived with, held in your heart, walked with many times and then worked on at the computer like an artisan crafting manuscripts with love for each letter. It's beautiful Dave. And your description, as always, is loving & caring. Another act of love from your soul. It never stops. You give people real pieces of your inner heart, and this is no exception. Many thanks.

I LOVE THIS!!!! :) As I am writing this, I have this HUGE grin plastered all over my face - it just won't go away! Wow - just wow! Such a fantastic picture to represent my childhood memory. You are such an incredible magic maker of memories. I love what you did here. You put such a great expression on me (the little girl) and Mom looks perfect. (The hair is so her!) That sea turtle is great!! The 'real one' even had the same expression the one in the picture has. :) Love the setting - it's so beautiful. Love the wonderful people in this and the colors are so vivid and lovely. You have just made my day!!!! Thank you soooo much! Big big hugs to you and I really hope your hand gets better!!
