Description

Giant chickens are normally not a risk to people or other animals unless you are disturbing their nest but this group was a bit different. Most stand around four feet tall, comes in different colors, the male being more colorful than the hen, but this was a group of dun colored hens and very aggressive. They just about destroyed one of the grain carts and wounded several men in their raid on the caravan. Which Selena missed, for the wagon master had sent her on ahead to check the crossing of the Blout. Upon her return she and Petri headed into the hills. Spending half the day searching through the valleys south of Zahn, Selena finally picked up the trail of the wild giant chickens. She and Petri finally caught with them with them in a cul-de sac and waited till the chickens had started to relax. Using the available cover, they sneaked down upon the chickens and at a given signal Petri swooped toward the chickens and distracted them so Selena could attack. The battle did not last long Selena was able to slay two of the hens outright and had a hard battle with the last one, which gave her several wounds before she could kill it. Selena: Now what’s up, Petri? Petri was roaring out and tail thrashing about the ground in a very agitated state. He finally coughed real hard and a chicken bone popped out. He sat down and smiled at Selena with one of those, boy I’m glad that’s over with smiles. Selena: I told you not to wolf down that meat! You have to be careful when you are eating you silly dope. One of these days you are going to choke on a bone. Pertri: So what else is new. You know how I like chicken! Selena laughing: Yes, anyway you can get it. Well, come on, we need to get back to the caravan, daylights starting to go. Finishing cleaning up, they head back to the caravan discussing the chickens and Petri wishing that she had gotten more of the meat so he eat it later. Background done in VistaPro, rendered in Daz one omni light, then tweaked in PhotoShop with a filter for omni directional lighting and painted wounds.
