To all of my mother's Renderosity friends:
It saddens me to no end to tell you that my mother, Mina, passed on May 31st, from endometrial cancer. She is survived by my father, Roger, and myself. I apologize for not letting you all know sooner, but her passing has left me with a broken heart and it is very hard to write this, even now. I don't suppose there will ever come a time that it will be easier.
I know how much she loved you all, how much it meant to her to have met such wonderful people, and how much it meant to her to create & share her art with you. I am leaving her work here for a while, as tribute to her, her beauty, her talent & her love.

I always love your holiday images because you do them with such abandon. This is a real tribute to grade B horror flicks and to halloween in general. Love the hands reaching the screen (thanks auntietk), love the little printing-foundry "mina" (or maybe those are little graves!), love the fiery eyes on the skull, the Bela Lugosi behind bars, all the creepy stuff—there's one bloody splotch in the center that looks like someone stepped on a really big insect!—and your horizontal lines across the piece like you took a rake and raked over the image to give it a little 'pain'. It's a lotta fun, all cobwebby & encrusted, and shows what a blast you have doing these. (Though honestly, I picture you having a blast with a lot of your images...but I'm not making them, so I can only guess.) (Oh and thanks for your concern about my health: Had an eye procedure and am now wearing a patch and crying "Aye, Mateee" and hunting for dubloons. I don't even know what dubloons are, but I'm lookin' for 'm.) (Oh, and I had enough eye drops to open my irises 40 miles. I was seeing stars 4 billion light years away! Man, that's strong stuff...) Great fun, Mina. Terrific piece...

You know what scares me the most in this picture... It's Bella Lagosi's reality. He was dead broke when he died... Frank Sinatra paid for his burrial... He has a cheap, simple stone... You would think all the vampire wanna bees in this world would gather up some money and give the most famous vampire a grave worth visiting - that's my 2 cents - can I have it back? lol
