Description
Second in a series from a trip last weekend to the surrounding areas of the Great Smoky Mountains. That thin asphalt line winding around those hills is the Blue Ridge Parkway, somewhere in North Carolina between The Smoky Mountains and Asheville. It was shot from a location a bit farther down the highway.
There are four ridges here. Going back each one a bit hazier than the one before it. But the colors were this stunning, especially up close. When the sun hits them directly, they possess an almost eerie luminous glow.
The Blue Ridge Highway is an amazing ride, especially this time of year. Somehow, it manages to avoid as much human development as possible. The views are absolutely stunning! Many parts we rode on were at the peak of autumn's color.
The first post of this series also showcases the Blue Ridge Parkway, entitled Road Trip to the Smoky Mountains.
Thanks much!
