Description

I've been away for nearly 2 months and it feels like an awful long time. I'll certainly have some serious commenting to catch up on. I decided to change style again for a while, but as my regulars know this is nothing new for me. For this one I wanted to give the impression of a painting and the whole image was created solely in CS3 Photoshop. The model is from Marcus J Ranums free photo stock on DevianArt and the castle is an old photo of Eilean Donan Castle in Scotland, hence the title 'Warrior of the Glen'. Any comments gladly received. the castle & environs are painted with very nice mystery & subtlety, and I agree with marlene that it might be just as nice with or without the canvas texture; that's a compliment to the work itself, not a complaint about the texture. You also use a more broad oil-look, with nice alternation between grays, browns & whites/beiges with broad painterly strokes. A nice dappled landscape; and your warrior stands with bold earth & flesh tones, showing the human presence in this rocky grayish landscape. Very nice return, hope to see more (but then I have a whole gallery to catch up on!). Sorry it took so long to get to this, but better late than never!

Thumbs up, awesome work and the motif of it appearing as a painting is simply brilliant.
