Description

As Hallowe'en approached the Faerie Twilight would come down upon the Lands and Isles of Dalriada. With the wee folk now gone, or hidden from humans, the light and warm stillness, which permeates the day and the night, still falls on, touches, and gifts an otherworldly beauty to the most mundane of lands. Family quarrels are mended, debts repaid, apologies made, as Man's mortality is remembered in song, and story and poem. Ancestors are honoured and family ties strengthened. Deep thanks are given to the memory of the Faerie Folk, and the gifts and skills they shared with the Island folk, all those centuries before. In addition, in the villages, sacred places and churches, prayers are still said for the Faeries' abrupt demise in the Long Black Night. Their oft guarded immortality, had been given up for sake of Faith and Love, as Faerie and Man prepared to become One People. However as the Magick waned, the wee folk were left especially vulnerable to human illness, and age. In the main they quickly succumbed. The few survivors retreated, and hid deep down in their Lower Kingdom, becoming but myth, or sailed to the fabled Lands of Light, far over the Western Ocean. Years later their church champion, the Blessed Monk, sailed off, in his leather coraceel to join them. FRIAR'S HISTORY OF DALRIADA OF OLD, New Pairth Press This render was fashioned from some standard VUE items. Sunlight was given a greeny blue cast. The atmosphere was heavily modified from one of Chipp Walters TERRAMATS series ( available from CORUCOPIA3D store ). The Sea MAT is one of my modifications of his water MAT. The terrain MAT ( Fallow Lands ) is from Martin Frost's LONELY PLACES item at the DAZ3D store. I hope that you have enjoyed viewing this render. I received a nice surprise experimenting with it. As always I welcome your views and your comments. Be well and take care, my friends. Nurture the gifts of Awe and Wonder which you were given as children, and carefully guard the little flame of quiet Joy and Peace in your heart. Warm regards, John.
