Hi Leah, this is gorgeous. As you may recall - back when you first announced you had quit smoking I passed along the little tid-bit on my dad's reward for all those years he smoked. Due to cancer he had to have half a lung removed. He also has emphysema. And he still smokes. Surprisingly, he is doing fairly well all things considered - so I am quite sure you will weather the storm, having quit and no longer contributing to the cause. I only wish my father could stop!

Sorry to hear about your health probs Leah, my hubby gave up the smokes nearly 2 years ago now, not for health just didn't like the government getting so much tax from them..still is great that he did..I have asthma too and I'm enjoying the smoke free air now... Oh! and I love this image too....

Your art work is always wonderful… I am so proud of you for stopping smoking. I never had to stop because I was brought up not to smoke but I do know how hard it is because my husband chose to stop smoking. We had been married only a few months when he realized that his smoking, even though he never did it in our home, was affecting my heart condition. He had smoked all of his life. I can say all of his life because his parents were chain smokers and he remembers seeing his mom smoking while she diapered, bathed, fed his younger siblings. He has been smoke free for 3 years now and has so far had his health improve because of it. Your title is miss leading … it is NEVER too late. Your still alive....Your health will get better, your life will be longer than if you still smoked and faced these problems and you still have time to tell others that it is bad for the health of humans. No one knows how many will stop because of your postings here…. But if it is only one then you have done more than most. You still have time to help your children and grandchildren know that it will hurt them. There will always be those out there that will say, as they are lighting up their newest cigarette “it might happen to her, but it won’t hurt me. Never happen to me.” But there will be some that your words will help stop.

Sorry to hear your news. I also have Severe Emphysema/COPD - was diagnosed 6 years ago and just in the past 6 months am now having to use oxygen for physical activity. I quit the cigarettes when diagnosed - just a little over 6 years ago!

Sorry to hear about your emphysema, hopefully now that you have stopped smoking it won't get any worse. An awful feeling not being able to get a big breath. This is a beautiful render with a lovely pose.
