Description

I was down at the beach at the bird sanctuary in Edmonds last spring, hoping to catch the heron doing something interesting. I was able to get a few decent shots, but nothing like what I would have liked! So there I am, creeping down the beach stalking this heron, snapping away like mad, wondering how close it will let me get. This lovely family of four was walking up the beach toward me, kids laughing and playing and running around. They walked right past the heron (who totally ignored them), and stopped directly between my camera and the bird. Mom whips out her camera, and I thought, "Oh wow ... she's going to get a GREAT shot of that heron." Denise, are you just wetting yourself over how close this woman was to that gorgeous bird? She never even looked at it. Cute kids, though, I must admit! This is NOT a manipulation, btw. The bird really was right there!
