Description

Didn't think this was any more violent than "the vampire" so I didn't put a tag on it, but I did give you fair warning in the title so if you're going to comment, please don't get all "did you have to go there?". Although it's sad that the frog died, it's so nice how even after the end if its life it is providing for others. The fly, and other scavengers, will benefit from the frog's death, and that means it didn't die for nothing. Thanks for your lovely comments on "widget", I'm glad it was received so well.

in your nature work, you'll see these things that a lot of us see and would walk away from. While it's 'gross', it is, as you say, 'life' and wholly natural...you've captured it with the same finesse you show in your other nature shots: The palette feels unified, the angle makes it seem a bit skew (as such a scene would suggest) and the texture of the frog is almost soft as if its transformation into food is an act of grace. A very good shot, suggestive and done with the ease of someone who's walked with and captured nature-in-close-up a long time, and seems to know how to do it naturally. It really is a kind of miniature desert, this big piece of carrion sitting right in the middle...
