Hi, My name is Bill and I am updating my homepage to reflect a wonderful event in my life...marriage, September 18, 2010, to my best friend Tara...known to many of you as auntietk here on Renderosity.
We "met" shortly after I joined Renderosity in August 2008. We share a love for photography and indeed all types of art.
We live north of Seattle and enjoy getting to share photographic excursions and information with other Renderositians ( is "Renderositians" even a word? ). LOL
As for me, it seems like I've been taking pictures all my life but I didn't get serious enough to purchase my first Digital Single Lens Reflex (DSLR) camera until May 2008. In May 2009 I upgraded from an Olympus E-510 to an Olympus E-30 with a wide variety of lenses.
My subject areas of interest include absolutely everything but with a frequent return to airplanes, cars, tanks, etc., ...or as Tara says, machines that make lots of noise;-)
If you are curious, I am pictured above in a Grumman Corsair on a taxiway of the Kansas City Downtown Airport. I used to fly and train others to fly airplanes. That will explain my frequent forays into the world of aviation. Last but by no means least, thanks to Pannyhb for introducing me to Renderosity. The moment I saw it I was hooked.
Fine print: Yes, the photo above is a photo manipulation:-)

If I passed this as a tourist Bill I wouldn't have even thought it to be a prison, a glorious looking building. Our prison here is concrete, concrete, and yes concrete! It is based far out of town. I was amazed when I went to Cardiff in Wales in the summer, the prison there is bang right in the middle of a very busy town! Superb capture and narrative.

Sharp capture, well detailed.

Excellent capture of this historic prison and grounds. I can think of a few individuals who should be housed here!!!

I have to agree, i've heard of Leavenworth but never seen a picture of it. It looks like a city hall from the outside. An eyeopening post bill.

Wonderful capture. Is this where you housed our notorious Colonel friend and tour walker when he was out working for you? Skipper62

It be a bit psychologically imposed!!! It's certainly big. An epic shot when opened up and the notes fill out the history well. Thanks for that! Great job, mate! rob.

Solid, squared angles, it exudes rectitude. But my first reaction to the pic was, "Is this all?" Then I saw the buildings to the left. Am surprised they sent Michael Vick here. Had thought he would have been at some low security "country club." Great image.

Stellar capture of a most famous, or infamous, institution of incarceration. If I didn't know better, I would say this was a State capitol building or a huge library. The list of past and present guests is most impressive. I always get a kick out of their nicknames.

It does look nice from the outside but I wouldn't want to be inside. Its reputation has even spread to down here, mainly through films and documentaries.

The grounds are well kept and it looks beautiful....but I wonder what the inside looks like...would you believe this is the first picture I've ever seen of it? I expected to see some worn down building so I was pleasantly surprised.

So that's the infamous Leavenworth! How neat! Very interesting narrative and it does look imposing but, as said, more like a museum. Thanks for sharing this.
GhostBear1890
Very nice shot of it......maybe it will become a "franchise" B&B with Brushy Mountain!
