3rd in a series.
2 minutes, 33 seconds after liftoff Gus Grissom’s “Liberty Bell” Mercury capsule was released from the Redstone booster rocket. The small posigrade rockets were fired to achieve a safe separation.

Great render. People think retros for reentry went off at the same time. They were fired in a sequence to reduce G forces. The space craft has been recovered. Why it failed is still a controversy.

There's something about the Mercury capsule that is such a classic icon for space pioneering. It's beautiful shape and details, which you have reproduced wonderfully, are so memorable. Excellent work!
