We have been without internet for two days hence the silence! :(
I took this image in the Pilansberg Game Reserve in South Africa. This was the last herd of elephants that we saw before leaving the park and quite a sizeable one. There were approximately 20 - 25 elephants of different sizes in the herd. This is just a few of them. They were moving quite fast - I assume they were on their way to a nearby watering hole!!

Very, very nice capture. I've never been to SA but the terrain is how I've pictured it. As I recall from studying some old military maps...there is a lot of much rougher terrain too. What a privilege to be able to see elephants in the wild. Bill

It's looking like we Australians will be staying home for a while now as our dollar has taken a dive. So for now it looks like our visit to Sth Africa and Brasil will have to wait which means you will just have to keep showing us your world this way :)

If you listen carefully, they can also be "heard" on the move. Better than being "hurt" on the move. Stellar shot of the various pachyderms on their way to greener pastures, Carin. Missed you on the Internet with your interesting postings and comments.

I'm thrilled by this. I know you know that wild elephants just thrill me to the bone and to see a family like this is just breathtaking. And you say there were even more! I adore that tiny one - in the middle of the traveling adults - being protected from danger so well.Gorgeous and did I say thrilling shot? :-)

Prachtig mooi I had a walking tour in my city today with people from South Africa and the Embassador of that country.. A wonderful group of people. fun to see this image now
