UPDATED: September 19, 2010
Hi, My name is Bill and I am updating my homepage to reflect a wonderful event in my life...marriage, September 18, 2010, to my best friend Tara...known to many of you as auntietk here on Renderosity.
We "met" shortly after I joined Renderosity in August 2008. We share a love for photography and indeed all types of art.
We live north of Seattle and enjoy getting to share photographic excursions and information with other Renderositians ( is "Renderositians" even a word? ). LOL
As for me, it seems like I've been taking pictures all my life but I didn't get serious enough to purchase my first Digital Single Lens Reflex (DSLR) camera until May 2008. In May 2009 I upgraded from an Olympus E-510 to an Olympus E-30 with a wide variety of lenses.
My subject areas of interest include absolutely everything but with a frequent return to airplanes, cars, tanks, etc., ...or as Tara says, machines that make lots of noise;-)
If you are curious, I am pictured above in a Grumman Corsair on a taxiway of the Kansas City Downtown Airport. I used to fly and train others to fly airplanes. That will explain my frequent forays into the world of aviation. Last but by no means least, thanks to Pannyhb for introducing me to Renderosity. The moment I saw it I was hooked.
Fine print: Yes, the photo above is a photo manipulation:-)

I have a small postcard collection of interesting places too. Its so wonderful to be able to go to one of the places on those cards and see how things have changed. This is wonderful. We have a double rose of huge palms that stretch through a neighborhood here and it used to be the drive to a very large and well-to-do family back about 1900. Great shot.

Nice to find old railbeds, here many are marked with signs and have become walking trails. Excellent capture and information.

It pains me to have to say this, but some of the most prettiest landscaping, in the US, is on old "Army" Posts. And you, Sir, capture it with a good eye and fine camera marksmanship. Skipper62

Bill, this is beautiful! And I love the history you place with the images to inform us...I love how the trees seem to make an umbrella over the path. Beautiful fall colors as well...a fav with me!

We lost the last of the leaves last week and it's sad to see them so bare after looking so colourful. What a perfect place for a long peaceful walk and what a history. Thanks for posting Bill and the suggested link.

A wonderful, tranquil scene. There are many extinct railway cuttings round here, their past recalled by still soot blackend bridges. Great capture and interesting info.

At first glance I would have said this had been a horse, carriage and/or jogging path in days of yore. Excellent POV, DOF, clarity, greenery, lighting effects and perspective in this beautiful capture, Bill!
