Hi, I'm Marilyn. Â I've been posting here on RR for a few years now and thought it was time to update my profile. Â It's been wonderful learning so much from the amazingly talented people here. Â I've had the chance to meet many in person and some have become great and good friends. Â Starting with a Kodak Brownie camera when I was about 7 or 8, moving up to Instamatics, Polaroids, then the Pentax K1000 that really got me on the way, I've been looking at the world thru a lens for a long time. Â Got the bug honestly; my dad was a photographer and gave me the gene!! Â Digital changed the world and I jumped in with both feet. Â You would've gone thru 100's of rolls of film in one day the way we can shoot and delete all day long. Â Progess...it can be awesome sometimes.
At any rate, RR rocks, the talent is over the top and I'm just gonna keep on shooting!!
Thanks for looking and keep those cameras rollin'!!
peace.....marilyn

I am just coming out of a terrible fortnight myself Marilyn so I can relate a little to this, although mine is on the medical side of life. It's been a real bummer for the last couple of weeks, I can see a light at the end of the tunnel though, for a short time at least. I'm sorry to learn you are feeling a bit down, but I'm sure you will see that same light as me and be back to 'normal'(whats normal?) before you know it. Chin up girl, don't let them get you down. Excellent prose, blue image works a treat with this. Bravo!!!!!

I don't look back on the bad ones. Wow! trying to forgive the days that didn't happen and the rules that were far too craven. Now fifty years is worth looking back. Sixty would be better if you can do it without resorting to photoalbums or even moments looking at phot albums. I remember wooden toys in kindergarten from the knocks on the head I got when I reached for one. Mostly from girls who were the big ones then.

Splendid mood and silhouetting image in this presentation, Marilyn! And, evidently your unease and discomfort was due to wondering who and what to vote for or against on the election tomorrow, November 4, a day that may go down in infamy.

Wonderfully written - you've done a great job of capturing everything that's been going on! ps ... you're most welcome, my friend. :)

A quote that has helped me, maybe it can shine a new light on your life too my friend... "Our lives can be considered a sacred quest. It is a quest which may have begun in this lifetime or many lifetimes before. It is a quest to find ourselves: who and what we really are. To do this we must first cease to pretend to be what we are not. We must cast away our Persona or mask. We must be prepared to confront the Shadow, that which we are and rather were not. Only then can we unify our conscious and unconscious minds and so give birth to the hidden Sun - the Self"..... by:Vivianne Crowley
