Description

I don't know what drives people like me to collect buttons. From time to time I go to my button box looking for something specific. I invariably find what I'm looking for, but those occasions are few and far between. I think I save buttons because my mother saved buttons, because my grandmother saved buttons, because my great-grandmother saved buttons. I save buttons because in 1895 there were no cars and nobody had thought of Hancock Fabrics. There's something wonderful about going through the buttons, hearing them click, seeing the colors, the different sizes and shapes. Some have two holes, some four, some are shank. Plastic, wood, metal and leather. I keep my buttons in a metal tin ... I think there's a law ... If you have a button box, you know just what I'm talking about. If you don't have one, then I guess none of this will mean a thing to you. Either way, I wish you all the joy of a button box.
