Description

For my good friend Seth - a man who both loves and respects the dark side - as I do. Seth unflinchingly explores the dark depths of human existence and in the process he bares his soul for all of us to see. For Seth understands that to know the light one must be able to fearlessly step into the dark. Blessed be my beloved friend, you are a great man. Seth I've been waiting a long time to do this piece for you and with CS4 finally in my hands I now have the tools and perhaps just enough skill to take the plunge and do it. The poem just flowed from the composition as I created it. I hope you like it. When smoke and lightning choke the air Face your fears if you dare Upon this ground you must tread Though your heart be full of dread If you want to learn to fly Then you must be there to die For if you cannot face your fears You will live a life of tears Stone glade in oaken wood, The earth awaits you as it should. Put metal sword in warrior's hand Hear the wind -- take your stand Roxy Nov 2008 Didi_mc background reworked in CS4 with Ravnheart's Landscaping Kit here at RMP and a with a ton of layer work on Sira Black. Next in spirituality series ...

Ah Roxy, goodbye to that horrible Windoze app PSP (that final 'p it certainly isn't!)And hello to Photoshop CS 4 and what it can do so well. But not of course without the postwork skills you have shown and the work you have put in here. The layer work on Sira Black is evident and successful. and her pose and demeanour is perfectly done. Seth will be really pleased and touched with this dedication and the poem shows your writing skills are in tune with the chosen subject. A favourite for sure! Dave

Roxy, thank you for such a beautiful gift, two actually, the image and the poem. Beautiful works, both. I won't comment further on them, just know that I felt the compassion and kinship wrapped within them. I am touched profoundly by this. And you are right, I know the darkness as well as anyone, better than many. It's were I dwell, but not always where I exist. a gentle kiss on your cheek for being who you are a small smile on my lips for knowing a kindred spirit. Blessed Be my Friend Roxy, Seth

Turmoil and despair, the rage of conditions beyond the characters control the huddle form from the storm. Emotion; excellent and well presented.

Wow Roxy, the wait was well worth it. This is a fantastic piece. The mood the despair, one can just feel it.. You have accomplished something when one opens a pic and immediatley feels emotion. Just fantastic. Just small advice since you have the power of CS4 on your desktop. I would have just added a little more light/shadow effect behind the rocks to give the sky in the background more depth and distance and the rocks more dimension.. Also a small bit of light to the lightining to make it more powerful. Love this picture it is great.
