Description
14" bull barrel. This round was designed for a revolver using 19 grains of magnum powder, a standard .357 uses 16 grains. The hollow point had a tendency to distort or break up in the barrel leaving parts of the jacket. Use of the .38 FMJ target bullets eliminates the problem and it has a nasty kick. It also flame cut the revolver's frame in a few hundreds of rounds. Due to its tapered rifling and no headspace it can chamber the regular .357 and .38 spl. The iron sights are Williams

I suppose it is no longer appropriate to ask if the bullets are teflon coated? Can it fire a wax bullet?

Still a shame no factory ammo was made with the 200 gr. It deserves to be in a long barrel to utilize the pressure of fully burned powder. They stuck with fast pistol powder like H110 and that works for short barrels. The ultimate results for me were in a single shot rifle with a 18" bbl. Using rifle powders. Enjoy your Thompson, they are made about 40 miles from me.

That's quite a long barreled beauty. As a lifetime member of the NRA, I share your enthusiasm and concerns. If there is any disarming...it will just be of law abiding citizens...nonsense. Bill

I agree with the nasty kick. The first time I fired a .357 Contender it nearly flew out of my hand!
