This is why I don't like the term "material" for surface or shader or texture. Clearly moss of a rather variable texture is growing in full sun and partial soft shadows on a rock of dull patina that is probably limestone. To have a file marked "limestone" and put this in it might seem painless until one finds another ph0to with no moss of a rock freshly fractured. Then to have material interact with physics when the moss responds to wind and the rock responds more to water and gravity is heading for complex sheading of exceptions.
