Description

I hadn't been down this road since sometime last year, and hadn't even heard about this damage. In the storms of December, 2007, the left side of the bridge and the land under the tracks washed out. In a testimony to how well the tracks were built, only two ties were missing; it looks as if they could jack up the rails and replace the dirt under it and start using this line again. It's never that simple, of course. There's a larger version at SmugMug, and I've uploaded a few more fractals, too.

This is a great picture, Dennis. It sure reminds us of the destructive power of too much water. The last I heard everyone was still arguing on what to do to fix it, or if to fix it.
