An ornamental cabbage in my front flower bed that morphed into this strange shape. It really is purple and green!!

Have to agree with Susank, it looks almost like coral from the Great Barrier Reef, quite similar in both colour and form a central stem with spines sticking out. Never seen a plant like this before marylin it should come under weird and wonderful. Excellent capture, thanks for sharing. Bravo!!!!!

Nice colours in this compo. I see cabbage, albeit a variety I've never seen before, but I don't see any royalty. Looks like something you'd see through an electron microscope.

WOW. I've seen a couple of these in Chicago...not quite as vividly, but I remember the alien shape. This is a gorgeous capture, and yeah, it has a quality that I might find myself writing about soon. Fantastic stuff.
