Don't want to get too close to this one; it's got a rather prickly side to it!!

It seems to have broken through polar ice due to warming and now is an invasive species.

the water washed glass really looks nice with this. Almost like someone dumped crushed ice around it.

I hope they are just decorative stones surrounding the cactus and NOT hail stones.

First of all, what is that thing? Something else from outer space? Looks like a frame from the movie, ALIEN. In any event, and looking at it objectively, superb clarity, composition and textures jump right out at the viewer in this stellar shot, Marilyn!

Awesome cactus, but is that ice around it? The water drops are perfectly captured on the ends of the spines...beautiful shot!

WOW...this is gorgeous...wonderfully detailed. Beautifully colored as well! Superb work, and yeah, it definitely has an alien look to it, or at least it does for me, but I like alien things so naturally I'd see them wherever I look...even in the mirror if I'm not too careful.

I used to be sharp as a tack. Now I'm about as sharp as ... a nail, perhaps. A bit less sharp than I used to be. This is an awesome capture! I love the rocks. Wow. The light is wonderful!
