Description

It's been a while since I did one of these. I love changing a photograph until it becomes something totally different that where it started. This was a perfectly nice image of brilliant, hot pink and red roses. (Marilyn was aghast at what I'd done. STRIPPED AWAY the color????) Maybe I'll post the original later on. It was lovely straight out of the camera. Sometimes I just gotta play! :)

Thats why PS has so many bells and whistles to experiment with filters and colour correction is half the fun, well I think so. Excellent work Tara, I think I would prefer more colour myself but then it would not be Old Fashioned but something entirely different. Hats of to you my dear for doing it your way. Bravo!!!!!

Sometimes we just gotta tear up the rule book to champion the cause of postworking, it's just like critique, one person will say "I would have used a flash to brighten the shadows", where another would say "Nice study of light and shadow" LOL!, keep playing sweetie you did a great job on this :)

Very exciting! I'd have to print it off now and start doodling with some real pens and stuff, that's how old fashioned I am!

It is really gorgeus and I think it is such fun to play with a photo. The result here is very lovely.

I really do like the colour desaturation in this Tara, it creates a dreamy and distant feel to the image. Very lovely work!!

Fantastic work...it reminds me of the sort of faded pink you'd get in really old wallpaper, usually from the bedroom of a woman born in oh, say...1919. I love the desaturation and the aged look that this has. In some ways it makes me think of something from the Victorian era. I love it. The other thing, the colors, the textures, the whole thing makes me think that this would smell like softly scented powder rather than a flower...OR like the petals of a rose, pressed in between the pages of an exceptionally old book. I love that subjective effect.

I like the antique look you got with the postwork. I can hear Marilyn! LOL The postwork added a lot of depth as well.

I think Ronnie sums it up Tara, we all have our thoughts on what works and nothing wrong with bending a rule or two. Bravo!
