I left Renderosity permanently because the management of this site didn't treat me fairly (they think they can do whatever they want, even if their actions are not based on any rule, and they still expect people to obediently bow their heads when they do so).
I will not delete my galery here but I will not update it with new images either. My new gallery is at DeviantArt (much better site!), under the name ArthurBlue.

sorry i'm so behind on comments! i'm not surprised to see so many comments for this image. the realism is actually key for this image, because it gives the picture depth. you can keep looking at places and discover details, which gives viewers a richer experience than many CG images which can be appreciated in a glance. i love the stone face and hand, and the implication of a buried statue, but i have a purely visceral response to the light on the puddle and the leaves beneath it. even though over-sized humanoid elements should be unsettling, the realism of all the materials gives me the same peaceful and free feeling i had walking from meadows into the woods. the stone is beautiful in its plainness.
