Description

This image is from the archives. I managed to save a rather dull and unusable photo using our trusted new friend - Topaz. I caught this breading herd on the run in the Kruger National Park a couple of seasons ago. It was late afternoon so I guess they were probably on their way to a watering hole and didn't cross the road more than 10 meters in front of us. Exhilarating!! It is not the same herd I placed a couple of months ago nor was the image taken on the same visit. I rather like the slight movement in the image to illustrate their haste. (Image taken with 35mm film and scanned.) Thank you for clicking in and for your very valued comments and favs on my "Cathing the Sun" image which I have placed last night. Hugs, Carin xx

Super shot. See, never thrown anything away. As soon as I do, I find I could have used it after all. I've seen a number of you talking about Topaz...but haven't seen it for myself yet. Plug in for PS, right? Bill

I just can't imagine what it must be like to be driving down the road and have these beautiful beasts cross over right in front of you, it must be so exhilarating, the adrenalin pumping like crazy. I'll never get to see them Carin, so thanks for sharing your experience, second hand I know but still fantastic. I also like the sense of movement, it adds more to the image. Excellent work. Bravo!!!!!

Excellent composition and lighting effects in this shot of the prodigious pachyderms, thundering their way off to something they find necessary to their well being.
