Description

Hi, thanks for having a look... A bit of idle fun after a long couple of weeks of pulling stuff together for the LDP2 release and the expansion pack. Wow, I just needed to do something light and fun and here she is! DAZ Studio render with postwork in Photoshop. ~2 hours to render mostly the raytraced area lights against the transmapped hair. Production Credits: DAZ's Victoria 4 with Blackhearted GND4 Morphs. Textures are Vanessa from DAZ (they're awesome!). Hair is Posh hair from DAZ with Pendragon's hair shader and a bit of paintover in post. Outfit is the lovely Stormchaser from ConnieKat and the gun is from the Rogue set from DAZ. Level 14 Cargo Bay by Stonemason with a Stonemason crate from DAZ. I think the pose started life as one of the DM pose packs. All materials heavily tweaked as always with extensive use of pwSurface. The briefcase was knocked together in Modo in about 45 minutes. Lighting 1 Uberspot with a gel from the left. Two omArealights. A pass with Mood Master from Dreamlight was also rendered. This was used for the postwork of the volumetric fog and light. Postwork Ron's Fog and Smoke brushes were used to paint the background volumetric smoke and the light beams. There's an easy technique to get the volume fog in Photoshop. Open your main image and open your Mood Master render. Copy the Mood Master image to a new _channel_ in the main image. You can now ditch the MM render. Create a new layer in your main image. Go back to the channels tab and ctrl click on your new MM channel. This will load it as a selection. Go back to the layers tab and hit the button for layer mask. This will create a mask of the MM render and anything you paint in that layer will be masked according to the depth in the image. Then just grab a good fog brush, pick an appropriate color and go to town. The light beams were carefully painted and then masked off with a couple of gradients until they looked right, then copied to the channels tab and yellowish smoke was painted in as with the volumetrics above. Some levels adjustments and a little postwork painting on the hair completed the image. As always thanks for your comments and critiques - they are very much appreciated.

"Deep bow" Your brilliance shines again. Excellent as expected. Probably going to have to read those layer instructions a few hundred more times though. Cut me some slack, I'm just a pond ;)
