I'm probably the only weirdo who actually likes to know my microbes--at least the non-pathogenic ones, and the beneficial ones, but that's just me...I've always had a fascination with anything that could be considered even remotely alien. As for this image, it's definitely one I can appreciate on so many different levels. It actually reminds me of a probing look into cellular cytoplasm. Whether it's intentional or not, the larger black and red blob reminds me of a mitochondrial body...the whole image in and of itself has a wonderful de-centered quality, and the more diffuse reds/pinks add rich subtleties to the image as a whole. In short, this is something I can spend hours contemplating. It's evocative, and if I were an e. coli cell, I'd "see" it as not only familiar, but also rife with visual references that wouldn't be polite to speak of in the company of more...prudish e. coli community members. But now, I'm going off on an odd tangent that borders on a rhapsodic description of bacteriological conjugation, and the structure of conjugation tubules...so rather than risk that, I'll just shut up.

ROFLOL - getting to know your microbes - brilliant thought; Wonderful idea for a series, well done here with all the broken bits and ambiguity non-biologist like myself see.

You're one of the few that could call an intruder friendly! Considering you've been feeling poorly this seems a positive sign of your acceptance and healing. It does look friendly, bold and plump. Although some pieces a bit misshapen. I'd say perhaps at the end of it's not so honorable life cycle!
