Gotta tell ya' I've been in and out of artists studios for two days now, and visited ummm, I lost count, a number of galleries and tonight, logging in and seeing these my optic nerves just calm down. Beautiful, restful, and a very lovely work here. I like the sense of depth in a heavy surface, a further sense of worlds and thought in the figure. Right-on.

When I see this, I continually think of Gustave Klimt (did i spell his name right?) I think it's the colors you used to such brilliant effect, though I think--weirdly enough--its her eyeshadow and hair. Anyway, I don't really care what triggers the association, I'm just glad I saw this image. It's intriguing, haunting, beautiful, and maybe the whole Klimt reference also comes from the fact that this reminds me of a souped up, snazzy, completely distinctive take on symbolist art. At any rate, I like it a lot, and the way that you use layers and manipulate light is always so incredibly spot on! Great work! And for what it's worth, the thing I said about Klimt just means that HE is in good company.
