Hi, My name is Bill and I am updating my homepage to reflect a wonderful event in my life...marriage, September 18, 2010, to my best friend Tara...known to many of you as auntietk here on Renderosity.
We "met" shortly after I joined Renderosity in August 2008. We share a love for photography and indeed all types of art.
We live north of Seattle and enjoy getting to share photographic excursions and information with other Renderositians ( is "Renderositians" even a word? ). LOL
As for me, it seems like I've been taking pictures all my life but I didn't get serious enough to purchase my first Digital Single Lens Reflex (DSLR) camera until May 2008. In May 2009 I upgraded from an Olympus E-510 to an Olympus E-30 with a wide variety of lenses.
My subject areas of interest include absolutely everything but with a frequent return to airplanes, cars, tanks, etc., ...or as Tara says, machines that make lots of noise;-)
If you are curious, I am pictured above in a Grumman Corsair on a taxiway of the Kansas City Downtown Airport. I used to fly and train others to fly airplanes. That will explain my frequent forays into the world of aviation. Last but by no means least, thanks to Pannyhb for introducing me to Renderosity. The moment I saw it I was hooked.
Fine print: Yes, the photo above is a photo manipulation:-)

I think he is hiding from you Bill! His feathers are so colourful and I love the textures in the bark. A really good capture

Great pix Bill. Expressive mood of the bird which you caught perfectly. Colors are fine tuned. He might be sad because you call HIM Polly and his name is Frank. Cheers, Skipper62

No wonder 'she's' sad, she's chipped a nail.(appears to be missing one on the right foot).Apologese to the lady's.

Maybe she/he is just old. They live a long time. Thinking back to when the jungle had more trees and vines raneverywhere.

Wonderful capture, Excellent well done..

I'd go with sad. Aren't their eyes usually flashing, taking in everything?

He he, it's lovely ;O)
durleybeachbum
He probably is a bit fed up. A healthy bird stands on only one leg when having a sleep.

cool shot

We all need time like that don't we Bill, time to reflect. Stunning and captured at just the right moment :)

Polly is literally experiencing withdrawal symptoms here. Possibly depressed over the economy. Crackers just won't help this time around. Other than that, fantastic clarity, stark overhead lighting, and deep textural effects in this wonderful shot, Bill.

I love how he is peeking at you. Super capture with great details in the wood.

Beautiful shot - perhaps he is a little bit shy. I went to San Diego zoo a few years ago and there were so many of these beautiful parrots/macaws there that I spent half of a day just watching them lol..
mermaid
guess he wants a little time on it's own....fine shot, Bill

Oh! I have parrots and know how very smart they are...this one looks like he/she is resting...resting up to make a LOT of noise, LOL. We have smaller parrots and THEY can make a lot of noise...these must be REALLY loud...but beautiful!!!
