Description

This is a bench not too far from where I live that is always available for that time when you want a quiet place with a lovely view. The view is from a bluff on the west bank (the Kansas side) of the Missouri River. During the period 1888 to 1958, one of the first railroad bridges across the Missouri River stood here. It has since been replaced by bridges to the north and south at many locations. When you need a place to relax, the bench is all yours. Bill

All I can say Bill is that if I lived nearby you wouldn't get a look-in, i'd happily spend all day sitting here relaxing with good book just taking in the view and fresh country air. Beautiful image mate.

Sometimes I don't want a quiet place. It allows an odd sado-masochistic view of fairness to try to excuse itself. A new boss once said," I once had a bad boss now I intend to be the worst boss you ever had." He saw that as a sort of uniform fairness.

What a great spot with the bend in the river! I love to imagine places like this as first seen by frontier folks so many years ago.

Gorgeous view, Bill! I am embarrassed to say that most of what I knew about Kansas came from "The Wizard of Oz" :) You are doing a fabulous job of educating us to the beauty of your home state. BTW - are there any fish in that river???
