Description

Fifty-fifth in a series of classic vehicles, captured 9/21/08, at the beautiful Palos Verdes Concours d'Elegance, held annually at the beautiful Trump National Golf Club on the beautiful Palos Verdes Peninsula in overpopulated Southern California. For more information on this event, see my posting for 9/28/08. Sorry, but I have no clue as to the various years the Chevys were that these gorgeous hunks of equipment belonged to. The cars were just sitting there, all in a row and beautifully pristine, their hoods/bonnets up, with no reference as to their age. I just know they looked pretty darn new. A zoom view will do wonders. Thankx for the visit, and have a superlative Saturday.

Nothing just under the hood stuff. Brilliant Harry. So shiny I bet almost smell a fress metal scent...lol. I gotta love the red ccolor combination.

The top two are blown engines with older style valve covers and massive individual ignition coils above each exhaust manifold. The LS-2's are the original engine in the C-6, wasn't that in 2005? It's a LS-3 now in 2008. I've never seen the blown version of the C-6 engine before even in pictures so this is pretty good. The blowers seem to be mounted backwards with a shaft running back and the inlet for the fuel injection body on the rear plate (now front). The red valve covers was the Z-06 version of the LS-1? Why the LS-2 valve covers are smooth I don't know as they were crackle finish on the cars I have seen.

I don't know anything about engines, but these sure are clean... :) Your shots are excellent, clear and detailed, and fairly glow with the love bestowed upon these metal creatures. Great work!

Excuse me...thou shall not covet...these pictures get me thinking...I wonder how I can afford to "invest" in one of these beauties. I could put one in my garage and shine it up every day for the next 20 years...if I make it that long :) Bill
