Description

A fun upload today, although I don't find the weather here funny at all just now. This is Emma's snowman, Looks like the Mr Men books she used to have as a child. I think this is Mr Snowman though, Emma will be 22 years old on the 3rd of January, she still likes to build snowmen. I think it is about not growing old, she tries to build one every year and she still likes her advent calendar as well. We told her it snowed on her Birthday and even now if it doesn't snow that day then she says she hasn't had her Birthday and therefore she hasn't aged. I wish I had my camera to hand when she came down and opened the door to go out the back, she was jumping up and down like a five year old. We all had smiles on our faces though. I used to love the snow and its only about four years back that I was stood on the moors in a short sleaved shirt calling my work team out to come and grit the lane leading down to a village. When they arrived I was stood outside my car and it was fair coming down, they just laughed at me and said I was mad, but I was just the same in the pooring rain. Now I have to have more respect for the weather, you can soon come a cropper on the ice when you have to use a crutch to walk with. Anyhow this is a fun upload hope you enjoy. I have just seen the weather forecast and the reader said we should expect 20 metres of snow on the Pennines over night, I think she ment 20 cm which in itself of nearly 8 inches is quite a lot. It reminded me of the anchor woman in the states that allegedly said on air to the weather man, "What happened to that 8 inches you promised me last night". Thanks for stopping by for a look and for any comments you care to make. May the sun shine down on you where ever you are. The Gorilla by the way is about 18 inches high, just to give you a scale.

LOL @ "8 inches"! Cute little snowman, and I'm with Emma, I go all kid-like when it snows myself...have to go out and walk in it and take pictures (can't do snow angels, if I lay down I won't be able to get back up!) I'd be all over your yard there, that a lovely crop of snow...

A fun capture, no harm in being a kid once in a while, back in 72, we were all throwing snowballs at eachother like kids, grown men and women all having fun fun fun :)...Remarkably, this image reminded me of Jannis's upload of her little dog Justin, who has sadly passed over Nice fun capture mate :)

This is real fun Jeff and brings a smile, I still think we are all big kids now and again, I certainly began to feel like one myself out in it this morning, it was great to see a couple more photographers around St.Leonards Church, one guy said I think we've all got the same idea today! I expect that if there is more I'll be out again, too rare to miss if you are able!

Great picture and a very nice Snowman. I wish those weather people would get it right. They cost us thousands when they forecast heavy snow and it doesn't even happen. People don't want to visit Derbyshire when there's a weather warning on - as for 20 metres! That's would kill the tourist trade round here for weeks... even the suggestion of it.

Very cute snowperson (hey, it could be a snow woman....) Although it does have a Ziggy'ish look. One is never too old to be enchanted by a snowfall. : )
