Description

Well finally all my prints are done, just as supplies are drying up.. going to be hectic tomorrow with the event and of course all this means that I simply haven't had the time to indulge myself and wander round taking plenty of new shots. But that's ok I'm waiting on a new lens anyway ;) This shot was taken at the villa in France, the evening before my sister and I left when we all gathered together for a few farewell drinks.. the brave partook of a litle Absinthe (1/3 of which still remains in my drinks cabinet hehe), my dad claiming it didn't have any effect on him (after several wines already) and took it upon himself to prove it by standing up on one leg, touching his nose etc until he promptly fell over.. point proven old boy?! hehe We bought the bottle in Saintes-Maries-de-la-Mer, the same place of which I posted the picture of the shrine. The ideal way to drink it I've found is to dip a small amount of sugar on a spoon into it so it absorbs a bit of alchol, set fire to the sugar and dribble the burning crystals into the glass, setting the absinthe on fire. Leave it to burn for no more than a few seconds, blow it out, take a deep breath and get it down the hatch =) Oh... in the unlikely case you didn't know, absinthe = aka the Green Fairy.. We also finally re-emerged into the 21st century and now back on broadband, such a relief after 2 1/2 months pissing around with dial-up! And a big congrats to Carin for December's gom! Hope you all have an awesome day, Adam

Wow, I didn't know this drink is being sold commercially. That's just too cool! Too bad it's not available here! I think the picture of Van Gogh in sharp focus and the blurred man in the background makes the picture/scene quite compelling.

Great shot! The other year I lost all memory of what was said to be a good night after drinking 2 or 3 shots of Absinthe.
